HOW TO JOIN.....

Joining the Orchid Society of the Ozarks family is easy, and we would love to have you!

New members can join at any of the monthly OSO meetings, or, just click on the graphic to your left to print out the application form, complete, and mail! You will need to have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to view the membership application:

                      

Yearly OSO dues cost $10.00 for an Individual Membership, $15.00 for a Joint Membership (two members of the same household).  Those joining the Orchid Society of the Ozarks after July 1 pay only half the normal yearly rate for the remainder of that year's membership.

First and foremost, the camaraderie with a group of down-to-earth, wonderful people who love orchids is worth the price of membership alone! Members enjoy the unique privilege of sharing their orchid growing experiences--their successes and occasional mishaps--with other members who are engaged, caring, and who show a desire to see every member grow his or her own orchid plants to the best of his or her ability. With a "buddy system" in place to ensure that new members feel immediately at home and part of the group, the Orchid Society of the Ozarks goes the distance to provide every member the opportunity to make the most of this fascinating and rewarding hobby.

    Plants for raffles--donated by our contributing vendors-- are always healthy and well cared for: we won't have it any other way!





  • Orchid growers of all experience levels--from absolute beginners trying out their first Dendrobium, to American Orchid Society Judges and Student Judges, some of whom have been growing orchids for over fifty years--come together as one to ask and answer questions, provide feedback, and network with one another as well as the commercial vendors who regularly attend our meetings.     Buy plants and supplies at great discounts. Hone your growing skills at our orchid growing workshops. Visit the greenhouses of commercial orchid vendors. Or, if you are conservation-minded and in good health, set off on one of our nature walks or picnics to view Arkansas' colonies of native Cypripediums that bloom throughout the woods in the springtime!

We are involved in numerous orchid shows throughout the year, where many of our members have entered plants and won not only show trophies, but American Orchid Society Quality Awards. As a member, you are entitled to receive the OSO monthly newsletter, packed with details of upcoming events, growing tips, historical information, and much more. Once you've joined, you can also receive your free Orchid Society of the Ozarks e-mail account, accessible through Web Mail anywhere that internet service is provided. The Members Only area of our website will give you all the details necessary for configuring your new e-mail address. In addition, members can create their very own photo albums in our OSO online Gallery, or put selections from our extensive Library on hold for later checkout.
